A production procurement experience that keeps technical search, crawlability, and commercial conversion in the same system.

Business context
Electronic-component sourcing is not a conventional ecommerce problem. Buyers arrive with exact part numbers, technical constraints, approved manufacturers, or a bill of materials. The product has to support that precision while still creating a useful commercial conversation.
Challenge
The catalog needed to remain fast and crawlable as its taxonomy expanded. At the same time, the RFQ journey had to accept both individual parts and structured BOM requests without exposing a fragile public form surface.
Solution
I shaped the experience around canonical product discovery and an RFQ-first conversion path. Manufacturer and family pages provide durable navigation; the quote basket and BOM workflow preserve context as a buyer moves from research to inquiry.
Engineering decisions
Stable catalog artifacts are prepared outside the hottest request path. Structured metadata and internal links are treated as part of the product model, while public submissions pass through normalized, limited, and abuse-resistant validation.
Validation
The public journey was reviewed from technical search through inquiry, including canonical behavior, responsive layouts, form failure states, and production health. Private telemetry and customer data are intentionally excluded from this case study.
Current state
ChipFasteners is presented as a live procurement platform. No revenue, conversion-rate, or inventory claims are made without a publishable evidence source.
